Nama lengkapnya Masami Nagasawa putri dari Kazuaki Nagasawa manajer J. Liga dengan timnya Júbilo Iwata, dia lulus dari horikoshi high school sekolah yang ada kelas khusus buat artist. keren gak tuh? mengenai SMA nya ini bakal dibahas di postingan berikutnya...
Awal dia jadi artis itu pada tahun 2000 saat mengikuti Toho cinderella kontes ke 5, dan main film crossfire di tahun itu dia baru 12 tahun. Ditahun 2003 akhirnya dia berhasil memerankan peran utama pertamanya dalam film Robokon. Dan dari film itu dia dapet penghargaan "best newcomer" dalam japanese academy award.
Tahun 2004 dia memerankan "crying out love, in the center of world" dan di film ini dia memotong habis rambutnya alias botak demi memerankan peran sebagai gadis penderita leukeumia. Dari film ini dia mendapat penghasilan terbesarnya.
